Photographing Thornham - High Tide at The Old Harbour / The Barn to the Beach
Event type: Group photography walk - A social event that provides an opportunity for guests to learn and practice photography skills in a beautiful place, alongside other friendly and creative people. Photographers of all abilities welcome.

Details: After an introductory chat, our route takes us to the atmospheric old harbour where we'll photograph the coal barn (one of Norfolk's most photographed buildings) and harbour surroundings at high tide. After this, we'll head around the coast path through the marshes, along the newly laid section of boardwalk, to the beautiful beach and dunes at Holme. After a quick stop for refreshments at the Norfolk Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre, we'll retrace our steps along the coast path and back to the car park.
In our two locations (old harbour/beach) and on route, you'll be offered some themes and direction but will be free to capture images in your own creative style, if you see something you find interesting, please feel free to stop and photograph it. We all see things differently and that is to be nurtured and encouraged. I'll be on hand to answer any questions you may have, to take a look at your images and to offer some gentle advice and encouragement where required.
The walk is aimed at all those who enjoy taking photographs or exploring the Norfolk coast. Any camera type is fine (smartphone included). Location group walks provide an opportunity for like minded folk to get together and practice taking photographs. If you have any concerns before booking your place, please just drop me an email.
Car Parking: Yes - Pay and Display at Thornham Village Hall - Machines accept cash and cards (please allow for four hours event time)
Accessible via Public Transport: Yes - The No.36 Coastliner - please check times online before booking
Tide info: The tide will be high at the start of our walk but going out.
Toilet Facilities: Yes at Holme Dunes (NOT at our start point unless you visit Thornham Deli next to the hall)
Refreshments/Cafe: Yes at Holme Dunes Visitor Centre. There are numerous pubs and cafes in Thornham Village.
Weather: If heavy rain or any type of weather warning is forecast, the walk will be cancelled. 24 hours notice will be provide by email.
Cancellations: If you need need to cancel your place, a full refund will only be provided with 48+ hours emailed notice. If the walk is cancelled for any reason, a full refund will be provided via PayPal.
Emergency Contact: All guests are required to provide personal contact details and emergency contact details before the start of each event. This information will only be used in the event of emergency as required. This information will be securely stored and disposed of within 21 days of the walk ending. Names and phone numbers will not be used for any other purpose. This information is required for your own safety.
