Photo Walks at Deepdale - Weekend Residential
Join photo walks as we celebrate another birthday (7!) with a weekend of photography in beautiful North Norfolk.

Dates: Friday 12th - Monday 15th June 2026 (3 nights)
Staying at: Deepdale Backpackers and Camping - Private Rooms and Award Winning Campsite. Burnham Deepdale, North Norfolk.
For this weekend residential, we'll be staying in Burnham Deepdale, a stones throw from the coast path in beautiful North Norfolk.
Accommodation is on a room only basis, all private rooms have ensuite showers and loos. Kitchen facilities will be shared with other members of the group and any other holiday makers. There is also a shared sitting room and BBQ courtyard area. Next door at Dalegate Market, there is a brilliant cafe 'The Nest' for breakfast and Deepdale Stores for essential groceries. There are two great pubs within walking distance, The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors. On two of our evenings together, there will be the option of joining the group for dinner somewhere locally.
Photo walks have been friends with Deepdale for a number of years and have collaborated on walks together in the past. It's a very relaxing place to be and to stay, the perfect base for a weekend of photography, exploring the Norfolk coast and meeting new people. The photo walk weekend will also be promoted by Deepdale (on social media and their own email subscriber lists) so if you'd like to join us, please let me know as soon as you do!

Availability: 5 private rooms are available, all have double beds with ensuite showers and loos.
4 are for reserved for single occupancy, 1 is reserved for double occupancy. Max. 6 people in the group (7 including the walk leader)
Note that bedding and bedsheets are provided but guests are asked to bring their own towels.
Pricing: £445 for single occupancy or £545 for double occupancy - includes 3 nights room only accommodation & 3 guided photography walks.
A £100 per person deposit (non refundable after 14 days) is required to confirm rooms/places with full balance due no less than 28 days before our stay, please see below for details on how to book.
Details: This 3 night residential photography break provides an opportunity for guests to explore and photograph some beautiful sections of the Norfolk coast and countryside. Along with learning and developing photography skills, you'll get to meet other creative people and enjoy some wonderful Norfolk hospitality. The group is limited to 7 and the weekend planned/hosted by local photographer Jon Clifton. Along with 3 planned photography walks, there is free time included in the itinerary for relaxing and enjoying local surroundings.
While the itinerary is to be finalised, walks are planned for Burnham Deepdale, Wells and Burnham Overy (either for a coast path walk OR boat ride to Scolt Head Island (depending on tide and ferry times))

Who is the weekend aimed at? While all photo walk events are aimed primarily at beginner and hobbyist photographers, everyone who enjoys photography, walking and being part of a friendly group is welcome. Weekend breaks provide opportunities for exploring, meeting new people and dedicated time with your camera that perhaps wouldn't be possible otherwise. My hope is that you'll feel inspired, not just by me or our surroundings but by other members of the group as well. All camera types are fine, from smartphones to film cameras and the very latest mirrorless tech. The weekend offers a chance to relax in beautiful surroundings and along with planned walks, there will be some free time to enjoy. Our walks and location visits will be unrushed, after an introduction to our location and being offered some themes, we'll head to different points where you'll be free to wander and capture images at your own pace and in your own style. I'll never be far away and will be happy to answer questions, advise on composition, settings and different things you can try with your camera. There's also the option to spend some time together as a group in a social setting.

What's not included?
- Transport to/from Norfolk or our walk locations (lift shares can be arranged as we meet up)
- Any Car Parking Charges
- Camera Equipment (please bring your own camera, lenses and equipment - anything you'd like to practice using & are happy to carry)
- Insurance
- Food and Drink (Optional group dinner costs will be split fairly depending on what you have)
To Register Interest:
To let me know of your interest in this event, please email [email protected] with your room requirements (single or double occupancy), details of who will be staying and your home address (for invoicing purposes). Minimum group numbers are in place but once reached, I'll email a PDF invoice for deposit payment, this will be payable by BACs Bank Transfer.
Cancellations/Terms/Refunds:
Bookings are available on a first come first served basis and places may fill quickly.
Deposit payments become non refundable after 14 days unless the event is cancelled by the organiser.
If you change your mind and wish to cancel your place within 14 days of booking, please email for a deposit refund.
Balance payments are due no less than 28 days before the weekend break starts.
If you book less than 28 days before the weekend break starts, full payment is required.
Any cancellation requests must be made by email (in writing) and if possible, confirmed with a phone call.
If you cancel your place with less than 2 weeks notice or are a no show, no refund will be provided. With 2+ weeks notice, your deposit will be retained.
If the weekend has to be cancelled by the organiser (in the event of illness/accident or other matters outside of control), notice will be provided by email and all booked guests will receive full refunds. Timing of notification may vary depending on circumstance.
Please note that weekend walks will go ahead in most weathers but with safety and enjoyment in mind, any heavy rain or weather warnings may mean that walks have to be cancelled across the weekend. We'll do our best to work around things but as weather is wholly beyond the control of the organiser, refunds will not be available.

Additional charges (damages, missing items etc.) accrued with the accommodation provider will be payable by those who incur them - such charges are payable either on check out or will be invoiced separately following the weekend. Group meal costs will be split fairly depending on what each person has, with the addition of a service charge (12.5% standard).
