Photographing Cromer

Event type: Group walk - A social event that provides time and space for photography practice alongside other friendly and creative people. Photography direction, advice and inspiration from Jon Clifton - www.joncliftonphotography.com

Date and time: Sunday 11th June 2023 / 10:30am - 1pm (approx.)

Meeting Point/Sat Nav Postcode: Cromer Tourist Information Office (North Norfolk Visitor Centre) - NR27 9EF

What3Words: slave.neatly.final

Details: After a brief introduction, our route takes us through the popular seaside town to picturesque Jetty Street and Cromer church before we head down to the esplanade and pier. After spending some time on the pier, we'll head east along the esplanade towards the cliffs where there'll be an opportunity to photograph crab boats, beach huts and if the tide is far enough out (and as long as it hasn't been removed/defaced) one of Banksy's 'spraycation' murals. Our walk will end in the town and for those who'd like to, the plan is to have some lunch (chips from No1 Cromer) overlooking the sea.

At the start of our walk, you'll be offered some different themes, inspiration and direction. At different points during the walk you'll be free to wander and capture images in your own creative style. Whether you use the themes provided or simply photograph things you find appealing is completely up to you. I'll be on hand to answer any questions you may have, to take a look at your images and to offer some gentle advice and encouragement.

The walk is aimed at everyone who enjoys taking photographs. Any camera type is fine (smartphone included) - please don't worry if you're new to photography, walks aren't a competition and everyone is made to feel welcome. Group walks provide an opportunity for like minded folk to get together and practice taking photographs, they aren't intended to be in depth tuition sessions (which work best on a 1:1 basis). If you have any concerns before booking your place, please just drop me an email.
