Details: Our walk starts in Blakeney and will provide an opportunity to photograph the harbour, marshes, moorings, buildings, bird life and perhaps one of the most famous wrecks in Norfolk. After spending some time in Blakeney, we'll take a walk along the coast path to Morston Quay, this section of the coast is very open and provides some great opportunities to photograph Norfolk's famous big skies. At Morston, we'll explore the quay a little, we'll photograph moorings, boats and marsh bridges. We'll take a short refreshment break at the National Trust cafe before retracing our footsteps back to Blakeney. For those who'd prefer to catch a bus back, the coast hopper runs from Morston village.
The walk is aimed primarily at beginner and hobbyist photographers but is open to everyone who loves photography, the outdoors and the Norfolk coast.
Any camera type is fine (smartphones included) - please don't worry if you're new to photography, walks aren't a competition and everyone is welcome. Group walks aren't intended to be in depth/technical tuition sessions but more of an opportunity for like minded folk to get together to practice taking photographs (with some gentle guidance and direction). Accessible via Public Transport: Yes - Buses from Wells and Cromer - Please message for help with journey planning.
Tide Info: The tide will be low for most of our walk but rising towards the end.
Toilet Facilities: Yes, by Blakeney Quayside and at Morston Quay
Refreshments/Cafe: Cafe stalls/shop/pub in Blakeney, Cafe and pub in Morston.
Weather: Photography walks are dependant on the weather. If there's a forecast of heavy rain or any type of weather warning, the walk will be cancelled. No less the 24 hours notice will be provided by email with information on cancellation. Full terms and conditions can be found via the link below. If the walk has to be cancelled for any reason (including but not limited to poor weather), a full refund will be provided.
Emergency Contact: Attendees are required to provide personal contact details and emergency contact details before the start of each event. This information will only be used in the event of emergency as required. This information will be securely stored and disposed of within 21 days of the walk ending. Names and phone numbers will not be used for any other purpose. This information is required for your own safety.
