Autumn ICMs at Holt Country Park...
Event Type: Group photography meetup, woodland walk and ICM (intentional camera movement) workshop. A social event where photographers gather to explore a beautiful location and capture images together. At the start of our visit, you'll be offered some themes to help develop your creative vision then throughout our walk, we'll be using shutter control to create ICM images.
This event has been planned and will be guided by local photographer Jon Clifton.

Booking price: £25.00 for new attendees or £20 for previous attendees

Details: For our looped woodland walk at Holt Country Park, we'll be photographing the incredible colours of autumn and practicing a style of photography known as intentional camera movement (ICM). ICM photography involves keeping the shutter open for longer and then moving the camera/lens (panning/tilting or zooming) to create intentional blur. This is an artistic style of photography and images created often look like paintings with streaks and twists of colours and shapes.
This event is aimed primarily at beginner and hobbyist photographers but is open to everyone who enjoys taking photos and being outdoors. Cameras with shutter speed control are a must for our visit (please message if you're unsure whether you have this - usually an S, TV, M on a bridge, DSLR or mirrorless mode dial, note that not all smartphones have this ability). Please don't worry if you're new to photography, photo walks aren't a competition and all abilities are welcome. Group walks aren't intended to be in depth/technical tuition sessions but an opportunity for like minded folk to get together to practice taking photographs in a social setting. Car Parking: Yes - £2.50 all day
Accessible via Public Transport: Yes - buses run to Holt but times are irregular. Please check timetables or email for planning assistance.
Facilities: Yes, there are toilets and a tea room - halfway through our looped walk.
Weather: Photography walks are dependant on the weather. If there's a forecast of heavy rain or any type of weather warning, the walk will be postponed/cancelled. No less than 24 hours notice will be provided by email with information on cancellation. Full terms and conditions can be found via the link below. If the walk has to be cancelled for any reason (including but not limited to poor weather), a full refund will be provided.
Emergency Contact: Attendees are required to provide personal contact details and emergency contact details before the start of each event. This information will only be used for urgent updates or in the event of injury, accident or illness. This information will be securely stored (digitally) and disposed of (deleted) within 21 days of the walk ending. Names and phone numbers will not be used for marketing or any other purpose. This information is required for your own safety.
