Details: For this event, we'll be taking a day trip on the North Norfolk railway. Starting at Holt in the morning, we'll travel to Sheringham by steam train and take a walk through the town to photograph the beach and cliffs (and/or Beeston Hill!). After a short break for lunch, in the afternoon, we'll head back and disembark at Weybourne to enjoy the North Norfolk Railway's 60's weekend (Make Tracks to the 60's). There will be live music, vintage costumes, a 60's themed fete and vintage vehicles. Plenty to photograph throughout the day including steam and diesel trains, beautiful scenery and the 60's themed event at Weybourne.
Our Itinerary/Timetable for the day is as follows:
Meet at Holt Station: 9:30am
Steam train departs Holt: 10:05am - Arrives into Sheringham: 10:26am
Photo Walk in Sheringham - 10:30am - 12:30pm
Lunch in Sheringham: 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Steam Train Departs Sheringham: 2:00pm - Arrives into Weybourne: 2:10pm
60's Themed Event, Weybourne - 2:15pm - 4:00pm/4:30pm*
Steam Train departs Weybourne: 4:16pm / 4:46pm* - Arrives into Holt: 4:25pm / 4:55pm*
Photo Walk ends: 4:30pm / 5:00pm*
*Our times for the 60's themed event and departure from Weybourne to Holt can be extended/later but the last train departs Weybourne at 4:46pm
Rover tickets for the railway have been pre booked and are included in the photo walks event fee.
The event is aimed at beginner and hobbyist photographers but is open to everyone who loves the outdoors and the Norfolk coast. Any camera type is fine (smartphones included) - please don't worry if you're new to photography, our events/walks aren't a competition and everyone is welcome. Group walks aren't intended to be in depth/technical tuition sessions but more of an opportunity for like minded folk to get together to practice taking photographs. Toilet Facilities: Yes - in multiple locations on our route
Refreshments/Cafe: Yes - plenty of cafes and restaurants in Sheringham and light refreshments available at Weybourne.
Weather and Cancellations: As non refundable ticket booking is required for the railway, the event will still go ahead if there is a forecast of rain. Please bear this in mind before you make your booking. If you need to cancel your booking, 48+ hours notice is required so your place can be reallocated. Refunds are not available for less than 48 hours notice of cancellation. If I (the organiser) need to cancel the walk for any reason, 24+ hours notice will be given by email and a full refund provided.
Emergency Contact: All attendees are required to provide a contact number for themselves and someone who can be called in the event of an emergency during the event. This information will be securely stored and disposed of within 21 days of the walk ending. Names and phone numbers will not be used for any other purpose. This information is required for your own safety.
Booking price: £43.50 - this includes NNR rover ticket (£18.50) and photo walks fee for the day (£25)
